Who can use nearbynow.co.za

You must be 18 or older and in South Africa. One account per person. A couple may share one account. You must use your own photos and tell the truth about your age.

Consent comes first

Matching on nearbynow.co.za is not consent to anything. Every person decides for themselves, every time, and can change their mind at any point. Pressuring, threatening or deceiving anyone is not allowed.

Not allowed

• Offering, asking for or advertising sex for money, gifts or other payment, including escorting and “sponsor” arrangements.
• Anyone under 18, or any content that sexualises minors. We report this to the South African Police Service and the Film and Publication Board.
• Sharing someone’s private or intimate images without their consent. This is a crime under the Cybercrimes Act.
• Fake profiles, scams, catfishing, or luring people to a meeting to harm or rob them.
• Harassment, hate speech, threats or abuse.
• Explicit photos as your public profile photo.
• Collecting other members’ information, or using bots and automated tools.

What we can do

We review reports and may remove content, suspend or delete accounts, and pass information to the police when the law requires it or someone is in danger.

Meeting people

nearbynow.co.za introduces adults who choose to meet. We don’t run background checks on every member and we aren’t present when you meet. Read our safety tips, meet somewhere public first if you prefer, and tell someone you trust where you’re going.
