Staying safe
Most people here just want a good time. These habits help keep it that way.
Emergency numbers
- 10111 – Police
- 112 – Emergency from any mobile
- 0800 428 428 – GBV Command Centre (24 hours)
Before you meet
- Chat in the app first. Check that their photo and what they say make sense.
- Prefer people with the verified badge.
- Use Copy meet-up details in the chat and send it to a friend: who, where and when.
- It’s always fine to ask to meet somewhere public first, like a bar, restaurant or 24-hour spot.
- Arrange your own transport so you can leave whenever you want.
Warning signs
- They push you to come to an address quickly without chatting.
- The address keeps changing, or they want to meet somewhere isolated.
- They ask for money, airtime, data or a “taxi fee”, or offer money for sex.
- Their photos look like a model or celebrity, or they refuse to video call.
If anything feels off, leave, then block and report them in the app.
Consent
Agreeing to meet isn’t agreeing to sex. Ask, listen, and stop when someone says no or seems unsure. Use protection. Free condoms are available at public clinics.
